HOW CALL ROUTING AND BLOCKING WORKS:
Blocking and Routing
Options are processed in the order listed below. Reading down this list,
if a match is found in a category then nothing below it in the list is
checked. Use this to understand which routing options take precedence
over others in case you have different options set. For instance, you
can use Routing to Closest Location, but over-ride it with Custom
Routing for certain areas, and also have Blocking options in place.
However, Custom Routing options have no effect if you have Call
Distribution set up.
Blocking
If the toll-free number is
disabled, the call is blocked.
If the call is from a payphone
and payphones are blocked, then the call is blocked.
If custom blocking is set up
for the specific toll-free number, and the current call is
not allowed by these settings (area code, area code and
prefix, 10 digit number, or State), the call is blocked.
If custom blocking is set up
at the "All Numbers" level, and the current call
is not allowed by these settings, the call is blocked.
Voice Mail
If calls are set to go
immediately to voice mail at the specific toll-free number
level, then the call will be sent to voice mail.
If calls are set to go
immediately to voice mail for "All Numbers", then
the call will be sent to voice mail.
Call Distribution
If call distribution is set up
at the specific toll-free number, then this call
distribution is used for routing.
If call distribution is set up
for "All Numbers", then this call distribution is
used for routing.
Custom Routing
If custom routing is set up
for the specific toll-free number, and the current call
matches the settings for day of week, time of day,
origination state or area code or area code and prefix or 10
digit number, then the custom routing destination is used
for routing.
If custom routing is set up
for "All Numbers", and the current call matches
the settings for a custom routing entry, then the custom
routing destination is used for routing.
Routing to Closest
Location
If US or Canadian locations
are defined in the Manage Locations menu item, and you have
Routing to Closest Location turned on for the toll-free
number, then the call will be routed to the closest location
based on distance in miles between the standard location of
an area code - prefix combination. Note that if the call is
from outside North America, it will be routed to the first
location (sorted by phone number). Also note that if two
locations are the same distance from the caller, the call
will go to the first location (sorted by phone number) -
this will certainly be true if you have two locations with
the same area code and prefix. Calculations based on phone
number are not always exact since some area code - prefix
combinations can cover a large area, and some numbers are
ported outside the standard area.
Ring-To Number
If none of the above settings
are relevant to the call being made, the call will be routed
to the ring-to setting for the toll-free number. This is the
standard routing for calls where custom routing options are
not required.
In addition to the above routing,
if voice mail is turned on for the specific toll-free number or
the "All Numbers" settings, calls to busy signals will
be routed to voice mail.
Also note that you can assign an
Auto-Attendant menu as the destination for either custom routing
or the ring-to location, and that routing from that point
depends on how you have the Auto-Attendant set up.

Custom Routing For 1-888-555-1212
You may choose to route calls to
specific locations based on where the call originated from and what time
the call was placed. You may choose to route calls based on an
originating number, originating state, or route all calls. Calls can be
routed to either a specific phone number, or to voice mail. You may also
choose to only have calls with the above criteria to be routed during a
specific time period on specific days.
For example to choose to route calls from 7:00pm to 6:30am during the
week, you would choose OT-Other in the drop down State box, the Voice
Mail choice, Weekdays choice, and type in 19:00 into the Start Time box
and 06:30 into the Stop box. After you have entered all the information,
press the Add button.
Calls from
originations not defined will be sent to your main and ring-to number. **Calls sent to voicemail are billed per minute at the domestic

Blocking for 1-888-555-1212
You may choose to either block or allow calls from a specific
state, area code, area code + prefix, or a specific phone number.
For blocked calls, you can select to have the caller hear a busy
signal, an error message saying that they have reached a non-working
number, continuous ringing, or have the caller sent to your VoiceStamps
voicemail. (Calls sent to voicemail or continuous
ringing are billed per minute at the domestic rate for the duration
that the call is connected to the continuous ringing or voice mail.)
If you ALLOW a state/number, then by default, all other
states/numbers will be blocked.
If you BLOCK a state/number, then by default, all other
states/numbers will be allowed.
For example, if you wanted to block all calls except for calls from
the 888 area code (Dallas, TX.), you would enter 888 as allowed and
all calls from other area codes will automatically be blocked. You
might also choose to ALLOW a State, but BLOCK a few numbers within
that State from calling you. You would enter the State into the
ALLOW list, and then enter the specific numbers in that State that
you want to block into your BLOCK list.
Note: Call Blocking settings on individual numbers are used in
combination with Call Blocking settings for All Numbers.

and is in addition to the normal per minute rate.
You may block calls from payphones by clicking on the Payphone
Blocking ON below. There is a one time charge of $10 per toll-free
number each time you turn this feature on or back to off.
Caller ID for 1-888-555-1212
You may set your
VoiceStamps number to appear on your inbound
caller ID display - without losing the true caller ID on your Call
Detail Reporting - so you'll still capture all the call data and
customer information. When using different VoiceStamps numbers in
your advertising to track responses, this feature allows the
person answering the calls to see immediately which VoiceStamps number is ringing your phone, and answer calls appropriately.
